About the Presentation

Shining Light Music

Each Shining Light presentation includes approximately 7-8 songs. We seek music that will appeal to our targeted audiences and help illustrate how we have found Jesus impacts how we see ourselves, the world, and the challenges we all face. We primarily select music that is recorded by current artists.

The chorus of approximately 50 young people has a role in most of these selections, along with soloists. All soloists are auditioned for their ability to communicate the message of the song to our targeted audiences. We have both high musical standards for our soloists and high expectations that they will seek to live as followers of Jesus every day. Choreography by the chorus, small dance groups, or solo dancers is included in most of the musical selections.

Our music is accompanied by a live band using local professional musicians who volunteer to serve. We add to the live ensemble with computer sequences created by Shining Light musicians.

We continually learn new music, replacing songs as we learn new ones and as other related components of the presentation are replaced. Our goal is to have all new music every 12-18 months.
